Home / About Us

We work by hand. Stripping the old seat, preparing the cane or rush, weaving the pattern, setting it off, step by step, with patience. It is quiet, absorbing work, and that is where the difference from a glued-in panel lies.
What pleases us most are the families and dealers who come back with the next chair, and the chairs used and enjoyed for years. That is the sign that craft and care are worth something.
We enjoy reseating antiques and family chairs most of all. Bringing a chair with a broken seat back into use, rewoven and sound, is honest and satisfying work.
